Recordable Call

Mailchimp integration

Marketing

Through Zapier or Make. We don't talk to Mailchimp ourselves; we send JSON to an automation platform and it writes to Mailchimp using your own connection.

The narrow but real use for this: after a sales or discovery call, tag the contact by what the call established so later campaigns can segment on it. Worth being honest that this is a thinner pairing than the others — a call note is prose, and Mailchimp wants fields.

What arrives in Mailchimp

A tag or a note on an existing contact, matched by phone number. Nothing is created for callers Mailchimp has never heard of unless you tell the Zap to add them — and a contact with a phone number and no email is not much use in Mailchimp, so most people don't.

How to set it up

  1. 1

Create a Zap with a Webhooks trigger

In Zapier, choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger and pick Catch Hook. Zapier gives you a URL.

  2. 2

    Paste that URL into RecordableCall

Open the link we text you after a call, choose “Anywhere else” as the destination, and paste the Zapier URL. Press Send test — Zapier will show the sample so you can map fields against real data.

  3. 3

    Add Mailchimp as the action

Choose Mailchimp → Add/Update Subscriber, matching on the caller's number if you store it, and set a tag from template_label.

  4. 4

    Turn the Zap on

From then on, every set of notes written for your number is posted to Zapier and forwarded on. Nothing to do per call.

The settings live behind the link we text you after a call — open it, follow See all your recordings, and the destination form is at the bottom. There are no accounts here, so proving the number is yours is what stands in for a login.

Fields you can map

Every delivery carries these. Map as many or as few as you need.

FieldWhat to do with it
caller_numberContact lookup, if you store phone numbers
template_labelA tag on the contact
note_textA note field, if your audience has one

The webhook reference has the full payload.

What it's good for

  • Post-call segmentation

Contacts who have actually spoken to you can be treated differently from contacts who have not.

Questions

Will it match contacts by phone number?
Only if your audience stores phone numbers, and many don't — Mailchimp keys on email. If yours doesn't, this pairing has nothing to match on and one of the other destinations will serve you better.

Don't have a recording yet?

You need one call before there is anything to configure. Get your recording number, make a call, then open the link we text you.
